UPDATE: Man killed in Pelham double shooting, woman injured

PELHAM, Ala. (WBRC) - UPDATE: Pelham Police detectives obtained warrants against the suspect in Tuesday’s deadly shooting.

Officers said 49-year-old Charles Hatcher is charged with Murder and Attempted Murder. Hatcher is held on a $425,000 bond.

ORIGINAL: Pelham Police are investigating a double shooting that left a man dead and a woman injured.

Police say the shooting happened at a home in 700 block of Highway 72. The woman’s injuries are not believed to be life-threatening, according to police.

Pelham’s Police Chief Pat Cheatwood says after the shooting the woman ran to a nearby home on County Road 35 for help.

Two people who were at the home are being questioned right now and evidence technicians are processing two scenes.

Pelham’s police chief says there is no danger to the public.

Officers said the woman who was shot, Tracy Lee Killingsworth, 43, continues to improve.
