UPDATE: 3rd capital murder suspect in custody after man crashes vehicle into Bessemer home following shooting

BESSEMER, Ala. (WBRC) - Bessemer Police are investigating a homicide that claimed the life of a 21-year-old man.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office has identified the victim as Walterius Jamal Barnes.

Authorities say he was shot while in a car in the 2000 block of Fairfax Avenue around 3 p.m. March 29. The car wrecked into a home after the shooting.

Barnes died later that same day just before 9 p.m. at UAB Hospital.

Bessemer Police identified three suspects, including 21-year-old Cameron Burroughs, 18-year-old Colby Burroughs, and 21-year-old Jakorrius Williams.

Police say both Burroughs brothers have been arrested earlier this week.

Williams turned himself in at the Jefferson County Jail in Birmingham Saturday.
