IRONDALE, Ala. (WBRC) - Irondale authorities say a 26-year-old man drowned Sunday evening in the Cahaba River.

Jesus Garcia-Ruic’s body was found around 7:45 p.m.

Irondale Fire Department and Cahaba Valley Fire and EMR were on the scene. Drones were used to help find Garcia-Ruic.

The Jefferson County Coroner’s Office says Garcia-Ruic drowned after falling from a stationary log that was floating on the river. The Irondale Police Department is investigating the circumstances surrounding the death.
